Gardening for a better life

Since the start of developing our community garden, we have tried to make it as accessible as possible with a wide path to the main gardening area and easy access to our poly tunnel.  Recently an older man who uses a wheelchair has started attending with his wife, getting involved with lots of gardening tasks – potting seeds, planting our raised beds, picking beans in our runner bean tunnel and making cut flower posies for all our volunteers.  We really value their help and their entertaining chat at tea break time, and hope when our new disabled parking space is complete more people with access needs will be able to join in.
