What’s happening on Bristol Giving Day 2019?
Get active, show your business’s passion and make an impact locally on Bristol Giving Day, 9 October 2019.
Conquer the Bridges Challenge by walking, wheeling or running across as many of Bristol’s 45 bridges as possible. Help raise £45,000 to support 45 small, local causes in their amazing work for Bristol’s most disadvantaged people.
There are 6 routes:
- City Centre Route “A brisk hour’s exercise”
Approx. 3 miles, and taking in stunning cityscapes via 10 bridges, what better way is there to spend a lunch hour – pushchair and wheelchair friendly.
- Temple District Route “A lunchtime stroll”
Approx. 1.7 miles, traversing 7 bridges from Castle Park this passes many businesses’ neighbourhoods.
- Cumberland Basin Route “Ashton Gate area”
Approx. 1.6 miles, starting from Underfall Yard this takes in industrial vistas.
- Feeder Canal Route “Temple Meads special”
Stretched over approx. 6.6 miles, you take in an impressive 17 bridges, ending at the ‘Banana’ Bridge. (A more condensed version includes just 10, spread over 4.6 miles)
- Clifton to Avonmouth Route
Very suited to cyclists, this covers 12.8 miles, with three key bridges included.
- The ‘Overview‘, which includes all the above. A grand total of 25.7 miles
Quartet Community Foundation are proud to bring you the event, providing publicity, maps, instructions and inspiration.
Everyone who completes a route receives a certificate of achievement.
Your donation of £1 (or more!) per person per bridge crossed will help 45 small, local causes continue their amazing work in Bristol
